Pelfa teams looking to continue runs

- Mogan Segadavan

WESTPARK and Shamrocks, who are both on a roll, will be hoping to continue their fine form in the Pelfa Old Buck Legends League tonight.

Westpark, who are unbeaten in their last three matches, scored their first win of the season last week, beating NMB Municipality 1-0.

They host Mahle Old Grey at the Londt Park Sports Club and, considering the form of both clubs, will start as favourites.

Shamrocks will be hoping to make it three in a row when they play log-leaders Hearts at the Westbourne Oval.

Two weeks ago, the Malabar outfit ended Kuyga Masters’ reign at the top of the log when they held them to a goalless draw.

African Leopards became the logleaders, but their reign was shortlived when Shamrocks ended their unbeaten run with a 1-0 victory.

In what could turn out to be the match of the evening, Leopards play Callies at the Victoria Park Sports Club.

Priory could pick up at least a point when they play the erratic NMB Municipality at the NMMU South Campus.

Should Hearts slip, Kuyga could become the log-leaders, as they should have the beating of PE City at the Victoria Park Sports Club.

Fixtures:

Hearts v Shamrocks (Westbourne Oval), PE City v Kuyga Masters (Victoria Park Sports Club), African Leopards v Callies (Victoria Park Sports Club), Priory v NMB Municipality (NMMU South Campus) Westpark v Mahle Old Grey (Londt Park Sports Club).

Real Crusaders thrashed Gal City 4-1.

In a very close match between the two teams making their debut in the league, Zwifa Mayoral Cup winners Young Brothers beat Strikers United 1-0.
