GOLDEN Heroes will be hoping their nightmare ends on Sunday when they play Airport Valley United in a Walmer premier league soccer fixture.

Last week, they started the round tied with Peace United but ahead on goal difference.

In a top-of-the-table clash, Heroes lost 1-0 to Peace to surrender their position.

Worse was to follow the next day when they were beaten 3-1 by Walmer Stars, who are just outside the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, Peace became outright log leaders with a record 23-0 win over tailenders African Aces.

They face a tough match against Real Madrid tomorrow.

Peace will be back in action on Sunday against Mabayibone Strikers, who return to the league programme after playing in last week’s Engen U18 Soccer Challenge.

African Aces play Morning Stars on Sunday. Morning will be full of confidence after beating Madrid 2-0 last week.

Ghetto Stars, who bagged maximum points from their double-header to move to joint fourth with Morning Stars, will have a chance of another double this weekend.

They play Walmer Stars tomorrow and Young Aces on Sunday.

The fixtures are: Tomorrow: Walmer Stars v Ghetto Stars, Mabayibone Strikers v Morning Stars, Walmer Hotspurs v Airport Valley United, Real Madrid v Peace United Sunday: Ghetto Stars v Young Aces, Peace United v Mabayibone Strikers, Airport Valley United v Golden Heroes, Morning Stars v African Aces, Walmer Hotspurs v Walmer Stars

AMA-UNITS, who must still be smarting from their thrashing by Volkswagen last week, should recover their pride on Sunday when they play New Brighton in their penultimate NMB Masters league match.

Having secured the league cup with three matches to spare, Ama-units seemed to take their foot off the pedal, going down 4-0 to Volkswagen.

With just two matches remaining, five teams are battling it out for the runners-up berth.

PE All Stars, who head the chasing pack, play Volkswagen in a match neither can afford to lose. Maximum points would see Volkswagen draw level.

Should either team slip up, Eleven Attackers are waiting in the wings to take the ultimate standings into the final weekend.

Attackers take on Zwide Masters, who are just outside the chasing pack and could dent their chances of a second- place finish.

Young Pirates, who have an outside chance of finishing second, should have an easy match against Gqebera.

The fixtures are: Ama-Units v New Brighton (Dynamos), PE All Stars v Volkswagen (Stinging Bees), Gqebera v Young Pirates ( Walmer), Eleven Attackers v Zwide Masters, Steve Tshwete Villagers v Soweto, Sparks v PE Eleven (all NU13), Veeplaas v Winners (Dwesi), Joe Slovo v Eberspacher (Dwesi)
