THE four frontrunne­rs in the Ntando Tours Zwifa Premier League did not have it all their own way over the weekend.

Major Chiefs opened up a three-point lead with a hard-earned 2-1 win over Sophakama, who are just inside the top eight.

Real Crusaders, who went into the weekend just a point behind Chiefs, were held to a 4-4 draw by Shooting Stars.

Manchester City moved up one place to third after battling to a 2-1 win over struggling Strikers United.

Shining Stars dropped to fourth after suffering a surprise 3-0 defeat at the hands of Zwide Pirates.

Hungry Lions and Young Brothers, who are separated by just one point, battled it out to a 1-1 draw.

In the First Division, Mighty Heroes beat Bay Tigers 2-0 to become the new log leaders.

Real Crusaders B, who were tied with Heroes and Tigers, lost 3-2 to Golden Arrows.

Manchester City B drew 0-0 with Golden Aces to pick up only their second point of the season.

United went into the weekend with a two point lead over Royal Bucks, who drew level on points following their easy 3-0 win over FC Angels.

It was a bad weekend for Angels, who lost their second match 3-1 to Manchester FC on Sunday.

City Rangers beat struggling Real Strikers 2-0 and are now a point behind the joint log leaders.

Highland Spurs, who are up among the title contenders, suffered a setback when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Subs to drop to three points off the pace.

Following their draw with United, Madrid are now handily placed to make a challenge for league honours, should the frontrunne­rs slip up.

Tomorrow Stars’ hopes of closing in on the lead pack suffered a setback when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Manchester FC on Friday.

Real Aces joined the chasing pack with a hard-earned 3-2 win over Liverpool.
