Framesby backs show their class

-

FRAMESBY’S backline delivered one of their best performances of the schools rugby season in Humansdorp on Saturday, when they beat Nico Malan in an entertaining FNB Classic Clash.

Framesby ran in seven tries against two to win a physical encounter 45-24 after leading 26-13 at the break.

Flyhalf Janre Viljoen and inside centre Monray Potgieter had solid matches and set up a lot of scoring opportunities for the Port Elizabeth side.

Viljoen impressed with his decision-making and tactical kicking, while he also did his bit on defence.

Framesby finally showed a lot more intent on attack but their lineout problems continued, leading to the two tries of the home side.

In this department, Framesby hooker Viaan Wolmarans again struggled to find his jumpers, who had to work even harder in the other facets.

The forwards did keep up a high work rate, were solid in defence and put Nico Malan under pressure through some strong ball-carrying.

Early in the match it looked like it could be an easy outing for Framesby, but Nico Malan never gave up trying, with their No 8 Gregan Glover having a brilliant match.

Glover dominated the lineouts and was a force on attack and defence.

Centre Kevin Slow was another home side player who caught the eye and tested the Framesby defence.

Viljoen, Wolmerans, prop Roelof Meyer, flank Michael Whittock, wing Duane Hanekom, centre JP Greyling and lock Sakkie Marais scored the Framesby tries.

Viljoen added five conversions.
