Vous Et Var to make amends

- Herald Racing Editor

TOMORROW’S main event at the Fairview Polytrack looks competitive but Vous Et Var could have the measure of his rivals in Race 7 over 1 200m.

This five-year-old son of Var finished a close second in both his last two starts, half a length behind Tevez and Rock Deejay respectively.

In his last race, over 1 000m, he was slow off the mark, but finished well. He may have given too much to do last time out and could do better this time.

Greg Cheyne takes the ride again for the Alan Greeff yard.

Vous Et Var is a three-time winner from 21 starts with five second places.

He is a decent sort and needs the utmost respect.

Banker Vous Et Var in the Quartet to win by field. If you spend R10 or more and it wins then great, but if it happens to lose then make sure you place your losing ticket in the Win-AHouse entry box in any TAB or Betting World branch.

Sir Duke, Villa Del Largo, Favour’s Pride, Miracle Bureau, Zevenastic and Varonella all have the ability and must be respected. Sir Duke may have needed his latest start and should make a bold bid.

In his last race he finished third, 1.30 lengths behind Miracle Bureau over 1 400m.

Callan Murray remains in the saddle for the Tara Laing yard and The Duke should be fitter this time.

Although Favour’s Pride finished eighth over 1 200m in his last outing, she was just 1,60 lengths behind Audrie Do.

She led in the closing stages, but needed a bit more to win.

Tomorrow Favour’s Pride is 9kg better off and with only 52.5kg on the back should be regarded as a serious challenger.

Jarryd Penny takes over the ride from Craig Zackey. Penny is in good form at the moment.

Villa Del Largo could also have a strong claim to finish in the money. He is capable of a much better performance than his last run. Expect Lyle Hewitson to make a bold bid for owner Fred Crabbia.

Miracle Bureau is better than his last run suggests and the same applies to Varonella, who won his penultimate race by 2.50 lengths.

In the final analysis, the vote goes to Vous Et Var to lead Sir Duke, Favour’s Pride and Villa Del Largo home. These could be used for Swinger and Exacta bets. The first race is off at 13.30 with a Maiden Plate for fillies and mares over 1 200m.

Nicole and Free The Wind could be a good swinger bet.

?? ?? After two successive seconds Vous Et Var could reward his supporters by winning at Fairview tomorrow.
