“TOWNSHIP doctors under siege” (October 10): I’ve been held up at gunpoint in a surgery. You can’t distinguish between patient and criminal. The criminals come into the surgery as patients. Police spokeswoman Colonel Priscilla Naidu suggests CCTV. The police informed me that they couldn’t identify the criminals at the bank ATM’s CCTV.

There is not a lot of cash at the surgeries. They are more interested in our cellphones and bank cards. The criminals said to me that they knew that the security and police would take 20 minutes to respond. By that time they would be long gone with my car and our property.
