UNITED Brothers will look to build on their solid start to the NMB Premier League 50-over cricket competition when they contest a double-header this weekend.

With defending champions Jendamark United only in action in the T20 Mayoral Cup on Sunday, arch-rivals Brothers will be chasing two wins.

Brothers have lost only one 50-over match this season, going down to a strong Madibaz 1 side two weeks ago.

But they will put that defeat firmly behind them when they first come up against PECC at the Dan Qeqe stadium tomorrow.

PECC are a dangerous side, however, and Brothers will do well not to take them lightly.

On Sunday, Brothers travel to face Despatch, who are another tricky side and capable of upsetting the odds.

SA Home Loans Unions entertain long-time rivals Seaman’s Renault Old Grey, needing a win to get their campaign back on track.

However, the home team could face a strong Old Grey team if their provincial players are available.

Gelvandale have a testing double-header in the T20 Mayoral Cup at their home ground on Sunday.

In the first game at 10am, they host Old Grey, followed by a 2pm fixture against another strong side in United.

This weekend’s fixtures are (home teams first in the 50-over competition):

50 overs, 10am start

Tomorrow: Union v Old Grey, Despatch v Schauderville, United Brothers v PECC

Sunday: Despatch v United Brothers, Mechatronic Uitenhage v Motherwell T20s Tomorrow At Uitenhage CC, 10am: Uitenhage v Motherwell Sunday At Moore Dyke, 10am: Schauderville v Union At Gelvandale, 10am: Gelvandale v Old Grey; 2pm: Gelvandale v United
