PE STARS will be looking to continue their winning ways when they host Butterworth in the eighth round of the ABC Motsepe League soccer fixtures at the Gelvandale Stadium tomorrow.

The Gelvandale side should enter their next encounter with the visitors from Butterworth oozing with confidence after claiming a convincing 5-0 win over City Lads last week.

That result has seen the newly revamped team soaring in the league with four successive wins.

They have moved up a notch to second place and will be hoping to bag a further three points that will bring them closer to the number one position.

They will be facing a struggling Butterworth side, who are seventh on the log with just eight points from seven games.

They have won only two matches so far and will have an uphill battle against the skilful PE Stars outfit.

League champions Tornado of East London are comfortably positioned at the top of the table, three points clear of the chasing pack.

The team have made a highly impressive start to the season and are unbeaten at this stage.

They have set their sights on retaining the title and have six wins and a draw from seven games so far.

Their clash with EC Bees in East London this weekend could consolidate their position at the top.

Bizana Pondo Chiefs recorded a crushing 6-0 win over Matta Milan last weekend and this has placed them in a good position on the log with 13 points.

The league rookies have lost only two of their seven matches played so far and seem to have found their rhythm.

They play Spears FC tomorrow in what should be a nail-biting encounter.

Spears will be gunning for a win that will boost the team’s morale after last week’s 1-0 loss to Sibanye.

The team are eighth on the log with 10 points from six games and cannot afford another defeat.

Motherwell side City Lads are also struggling and are gearing up to face seventh-placed Try Again as their search for their first league win this season continues.

City Lads are bottom of the log with one point from seven games and will be desperate to move away from that zone.
