Man’s generosity on N2 appreciated

- The Cartners, Bushmans River Mouth

EARLY on Sunday morning January 28 we were on the N2 heading for Gauteng when, near to Howison’s Poort, we hit a concrete block lying on the road, which burst our front tyre.

We managed to pull off the highway and called the AA for assistance with offloading our luggage and changing the wheel.

While we were waiting for assistance a double tanker pulled off the highway and reversed to where we were parked.

The driver’s door opened, a spry chap hopped down and with a big smile asked my husband if we had a spare wheel.

When he was told that help was on the way he hopped into his vehicle and went on his way.

It all happened so fast that we did not get the details of the vehicle, nor did we thank him well enough for his generous offer of help and we feel really bad. We wonder if he will read this?

It would be the only way for him to know how much we appreciated his unexpected generosity.
