Londt Park and Saders sweep past opposition in Super league

THE Londt Park and Crusaders squash teams sent out powerful statements as they destroyed their opposition on the opening night of the Super league this week.

Defending women’s champions Crusaders A were predictably too strong for their second-string counterparts, dispatching them without losing a game.

Londt Park were equally in control, also picking up full points against Profiles.

Only Inge Loftie-Eaton was extended before overcoming Michelle Bailey in five games.

NMU kept pace with the frontrunners, proving too much for Westview, even without No 2 Bianca Brown, winning 16-4.

Karen Murdock, at No 5, was the sole winner for Westview.

The men’s competition followed a similar pattern, although title contenders Londt Park did drop a match against Old Grey in their 17-6 victory, Brinley Forbes getting the better of Tyler Whitby.

There were some good contests in the Saders-Westview showdown, but Saders emerged triumphant in all those to claim a 19-4 victory.

They could well be the dark horses for the title.

Defending champions NMU had a bye.

They play their first match on Tuesday against Saders, which could be a key result in the final outcome.
