The Herald letters policy
LETTERS must bear your full name, address and a contact number. The Herald will withhold letter writers’ names from publication on request, but details must be provided. For SMSes, please provide your name and a pseudonym, if you do not want your name published.
ý Preference will be given to short, concise letters. Letters must be the sender’s original work and not copied from elsewhere.
ý Preference will be given to the views of ordinary readers above submissions from political parties.
ý The Herald welcomes comment and debate on news or matters of public interest. Vulgar or abusive language and personal attacks will not be tolerated.
ý The editor reserves the right, without stating reasons, to shorten or edit letters or SMSes. The editor similarly reserves the right not to publish any given letter or SMS.
