ZONKE IN PE

Multi-award-winning singer, songwriter and producer Zonke will perform at the Boardwalk on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets for her #L.O.V.E. tour concert range from R250 to R400 and the show is 7.30pm on Saturday and at 2pm on Sunday.

TRIBUTE TO OUR SOUL JAZZMEN

A Heritage Month exhibition on the history and achievemen­ts of Port Elizabeth musicians the Soul Jazzmen will be shown at the Nangoza Jebe Hall at midday on Sunday in New Brighton to mark the 50th anniversar­y since its formation. This will be followed by a concert at 4pm by the remaining members and young jazz artists will perform in honour of the band. The event is free and open to the public. AFRIKAANS COMEDY

BARN PLAY

Monde Ngonyama’s play The Master Key, directed by Xabiso Zweni, is at the Opera House until Saturday, with shows at 7pm each night and an additional matinee on Saturday at 2pm. Tickets are R100 single, R150 (double) and R50 for students.

UITENHAGE FILM

A Uitenhage production, feature film The Impervious Soul – written, directed and produced by Willem Greeff – premieres on Friday at Strelitzia High School in Uitenhage. Limited tickets are on sale at the door from 6pm and the screening starts at 7pm.

SEABIRD FUNDRAISER

Sanccob is hosting a fundraiser for its seabird conservati­on work on Friday at the Sacramento restaurant in Schoenmake­rskop. The semi-formal event is at 5.30 for 6pm and tickets are R300 each, which includes welcome drinks and gourmet canapes.

QUILTERS’ GUILD

The Dias Quilters’ Guild meets on Saturday at 2pm at the Victoria Park Grey Primary School, First Avenue, Walmer. Visitors are welcome (R20 for visitors and R15 for members). The guild is holding its annual spring show next week from Tuesday to Saturday at the same venue from 9am to 5pm, with extended hours on Friday until 8pm. On Saturday, the show will end at 4pm. Take part in one of four parkruns in Port Elizabeth – PE Hobie Beach, Lady Slipper, Wells Estate and Sardinia Bay. The parkrun is a 5km fun run at 8am every Saturday, which is free and open to all but if you want a time please register for a barcode at www.parkrun.co.za. The Hobie run starts at the palm tree next to Shark Rock Pier, Sardinia Bay is at the Grass Roof in Heron Road, Lady Slipper is at Slipperfie­lds and Wells Estate is at St George’s Strand.
