Supermarket in KwaNobuhle robbed

- Gareth Wilson

Five gunmen robbed a supermarket in Matanzima Road, KwaNobuhle, on Wednesday night, stealing an undisclosed amount of money.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Majola Nkohli said the robbery took place at about 7.30pm when the men entered the store pretending to be customers.

“It is said that two of the men went to the manager’s office and forced him to open a safe at gunpoint. Three other suspects emptied two tills.”

Nkohli said the suspects then hijacked a green Hyundai parked outside the store.

“The driver was forced out of the car and the suspects fled in [it].” –
