Elderly siblings attacked in Addo

Two firearms – a 303 hunting rife and a shotgun – and two television sets were stolen during a robbery on a smallholding in Addo on Thursday.

According to police, the attack happened at about 12.30am while an 88-year-old woman and her 86-year-old brother were sleeping in the house.

Sergeant Majola Nkohli said the three men broke into the house and attacked the man in his bedroom. The sister was then tied up but not assaulted.

By 6.30am, one of the suspects had been arrested in Addo and a stolen pistol recovered. The man is due to appear in the Addo Magistrate’s Court on Monday. –
