THINKING OF YOU: Residents of the Buffelsfontein Retirement Village were treated to an early Christmas celebration by Magnetic Storm yesterday and used the opportunity to thank Nelson Mandela Bay residents for sponsoring more than 200 panic buttons for the elderly who cannot afford it. The village was rocked by two robberies, a week apart, in November. Algoa Bay Council for the Aged CEO Maureen Andreka said the council was grateful for the generous response. Residents offered to sponsor panic buttons, at R22 a month, for six months and a year. Within a week the village received almost R50,000 in donations to improve security. Andreka said the council was also proud of the residents who are raising funds to pay for the security gates at their flats. Magnetic Storm hosted a function to decorate the Christmas tree at the village and residents were also treated to some Christmas carols sung by Niqui Cloete-Barrass. Simamkele Kolwapi of Magnetic Storm also handed out treats to residents. She is seen here with Nova van Niekerk
