Rescue mission for US marines after crash

Rescue operations were under way on Thursday for five US marines missing after two military aircraft crashed during a refuelling operation off Japan’s coast, the Japanese defence minister said.

One crew member had already been rescued, Takeshi Iwaya said.

A spokesperson for the Japan SelfDefence Forces said another crew member had been found but there were no details yet of his condition. –
