BIG MAN AND BEAR IN SONG

Big Man and Bear, the acoustic folk duo of Megan du Toit and Hugo Kleinhans, will play at the Music Kitchen on Friday January 18 at 8pm. Tickets are R40 or you may bring an old pair of jeans. Tables may be booked.

MEMORIAL RACE

The eighth annual Curt Alchin Memorial Race will be held at Victoria Raceway on Saturday January 19 with classes for Junior Hot Rods, 1660s, 2.1 Modifieds, Heavy Metals, Pinkrods and American Saloons. Gates open at 3pm and racing starts 6pm. Entrance is R50 for adults, R20 for children under 13 and track parking is R20 a vehicle. Inquiries: Maggie, 082-656-8830.

VOETSAC HIKING CLUB

The Voetsac Hiking Club is walking the 9km Roseate Tern trail in the Cape Recife area on Saturday January 19. This hike is open to all, rated easy and costs R5. Voetsac is taking up to 12 hikers on a more challengin­g excursion to Waterkloof, also on January 19.

OCEAN RACING

The aQuellé Ocean Racing Series is at Hobie Beach on Sunday with seven events for families to choose from, including beach runs and ocean swims, starting at 9am.
