BIG MAN AND BEAR IN SONG

ME­MO­RIAL RACE

The eighth an­nual Curt Alchin Me­mo­rial Race will be held at Vic­to­ria Race­way on Satur­day Jan­uary 19 with classes for Ju­nior Hot Rods, 1660s, 2.1 Mod­i­fieds, Heavy Met­als, Pinkrods and Amer­i­can Saloons. Gates open at 3pm and rac­ing starts 6pm. En­trance is R50 for adults, R20 for chil­dren un­der 13 and track park­ing is R20 a ve­hi­cle. In­quiries: Mag­gie, 082-656-8830.

VOETSAC HIK­ING CLUB

The Voetsac Hik­ing Club is walk­ing the 9km Roseate Tern trail in the Cape Re­cife area on Satur­day Jan­uary 19. This hike is open to all, rated easy and costs R5. Voetsac is tak­ing up to 12 hik­ers on a more chal­leng­ing ex­cur­sion to Waterk­loof, also on Jan­uary 19.

OCEAN RAC­ING

The aQuellé Ocean Rac­ing Se­ries is at Ho­bie Beach on Sun­day with seven events for fam­i­lies to choose from, in­clud­ing beach runs and ocean swims, start­ing at 9am.
