ABBA TRIBUTE

FOOD TRUCKS

Baakens Food Truck Funday (BFTF) will be held on Saturday February 16 from 4 to 9pm in the Baakens Valley, with about 20 food trucks, tuk-tuks and trailers. There also will be bar facilities, children’s entertainm­ent, a fire dancer and live music from Emile Naidu (5pm), Celso Fabbri (6pm), Beats By Hand (7pm) and DJ Executive (8pm). Entry is free, meal prices are capped at R55 and there is (limited) space inside the WERK_ workshop in case of bad weather. Visitors are encouraged to bring picnic blankets and camping chairs. Werk in the Baakens Valley will host I Made This Creative Classes with trained artisan instructor­s on Saturday February 16. Classes include ceramics (tiles); leather making (basic wallet); glass making (ornaments); sewing (basics sewing); shibori dying (pillow cases or dishcloth), and printmakin­g (linoprint cards). MUSIC OF QUEEN

The Queen and Freddy Mercury tribute show Joseph Clark – The Music of Queen will be staged at the Music Kitchen in Port Elizabeth on Friday February 15 and again on Tuesday February 19. VOETSAC HIKING CLUB

The Voetsac Hiking Club will take two hikes on Saturday February 16. One group will visit Sleepy Hollow, an easy 10km hike, at a cost of R30. Gates open at 7am with a family fun run starting at 8am, followed by river swims and other events until the Men’s River Mile at 2.30pm, followed by prize-giving at 4pm.
