East Cape exporters line up for prestigious awards
Exporters Eastern Cape will be announcing the winners of its coveted annual Exporter of the Year Awards during a glittering gala hosted at The Sun Boardwalk Convention Centre on Friday.
The 24th Exporter of the Year Awards will showcase the best in the Eastern Cape export market – celebrating the achievements of exporters in their respective sectors over the past year.
Exporters had again achieved many milestones and would be acknowledged for their role in the provincial economy, Exporters Eastern Cape chair Quintin Levey said.
“Despite the low economic growth in South Africa, exporters in the Eastern Cape continue to inspire us with their incredible successes – by continuing to innovate and grow into new markets across the world.
“The event acknowledges this hard work, in all the different categories, as well as commends exporters for job creation and sustainable business practices,” Levey said.
There are eight categories in which the exporters and service providers to the export industry will be recognised.
An overall Exporter of the Year winner is selected from the category winners.
Winners are announced in the following categories:
● SJM Flex Environmental Award;
● SJM Flex Environmental Practice Award;
● IDC Job-Creation Award;
● Best Provider of Services to Exporters;
● Best Exporter: Small Business;
● Best Exporter: Medium Enterprises;
● Best Exporter: Corporate Category; and
● Best Exporter: OEM. With more than 450 guests expected to attend the gala dinner, it promises to be a night of celebrating local excellence – with good food, great company and entertainment to match.
Transnet National Ports Authority is the platinum sponsor for the 2019 gala event.
