FED UP WITH MUNICIPAL HIKES

-

Is it April Fool’s, or are we all just fools? I mean, 6.22% increase for electricity, 8% for water and 8.5% for rates. We haven’t even recovered from this lockdown yet (no work), and our municipality is milking us already. We are fed up.

Vernon Rippon

Our municipality talks of a big rates increase, yet cannot repair basics such as street lights and potholes. It should consider this very carefully. Ratepayers are becoming angry.

Mike

The latest increase by the municipality is uncalled for. The municipality can sponsor the Isuzu Kings with millions. It offers car allowances to some of its employees who do not use their vehicles for municipality business. Why not give an allowance to employees from assistant directors up? The municipality will save a lot of money.

Ratepayer

Once again the ratepayers of the metro will have to pay extra. For what? To subsidise the Kings and Chippa United? Let’s fight these increases.
