ANC PROTECTS ITS OWN

In my view Malaika Wa Azania of the Azainian Revolution should understand that in the ANC there is nothing wrong with the election of a convicted fraudster by the WSU alumini or the payment. In the event of any criminal indiscretion the ANC have always chosen to protect the party and its members, even to the detriment of the community.

HUGE COST

The national shutdown cost the taxpayers more than R166m. Can someone send the EFF the invoice for the costs?

THANKS FOR SUPPORT

Kudos to Cashbuild, 5th Avenue, Walmer. Antoinette and Zoleka went by far the extra mile two weeks ago on a Saturday morning. I truly appreciated your care and support. Thank you both so much.

NO SERVICES

Re service delivery: I am from ward 9. You never see anyone cleaning our streets, yet when you drive around there are certain areas being taken care of. We never see a councillor. No use phoning ... no reply. No use reporting anything, nothing is done about it. Yet we pay rates and taxes.

SHUTDOWN LESSON

Bignoise Mbalula (“Citizens reject EFF’s anti-democracy agenda — Mbalula”, The Herald, March 23), Your old buddy Julius Malema really got you talking. I hear what you say about the shutdown, but I hope you and the rest of your party have learnt a lesson about this so-called shutdown, and that in future all these measures will be taken with every march that takes place in this country, and that the people who plan the strike or march put down a large deposit of cash before they are allowed to do so.

EUROPEAN SOJOURN

Gauteng premier Panyaza Lesufi is now in Europe to investigate and study hitech street lights that might fight crime. This is unbelievable when at the press of a button he can have this info at his fingertips without leaving his unworn office chair. How many assistants accompanied him on this journey and at what cost? It never stops. Abuse of public funds continues unabated.

PIT LATRINES

With regard to a grille being placed between the seat and hole of pit latrines — could a grille not be cast from recycled plastic instead of steel?

JUST ASKING

Electricity expert Gary van Niekerk: if Nicholls was such an expert why was he not picked up by anyone else? Is he perhaps also from the northern areas? Just asking.
