NO CIGAR, CYRIL

So our president believes it’s an achievement that 18-million South Africans receive social grants. I wonder if he realises that those are unemployed people who are suffering because of ANC policies which have stifled our economy. No doubt they would prefer to have jobs and to earn more than the social grant.

Eckart

So President Ramapathetic thinks that it’s great to have 18 million people on social security. So if the entire population was on social security without anyone working that would be a great success.

PRICE POSER

Supermarkets blaming price increases on generator costs during load-shedding, and no longer the diesel price. Oil is now $75 a barrel. Are we being taken for a ride? Asking for a friend.

PROTECT US, PLEASE

The Mkhwebane impeachment inquiry is, in my opinion, nothing more than an extravagant theatrical production providing a stage for a bunch of clowns. Who is going to be responsible for payment of her legal team?

OLD MUIRITE UNION

AGM. Please explain to me as an honoured Muirite old boy why the AGM is held in Gqeberha, not in Kariega?

MAYORAL SUGGESTION PAGE

The Herald should run a suggestion box for Mayor Odendaal. Here is mine to get the get this off the ground. Review and update the Metro Police traffic offence form. I got stopped by the cops on Tuesday for speeding. I was issued with R450 fine. Being an upstanding citizen, I looked for how to pay. The form recommends I pay via the postal system, ie send cash in an envelope. Given the state of the SA postal service, the chance of my cash arriving at the traffic dept is nil. So I looked to find the bank details so I could do an EFT but no bank details are on the form. The Metro collection rate from traffic offenses is low, and it’s probably not helped by NMBM making it so difficult to pay the fine. So please update the forms with the payment details.
