Nothing off limits in ‘Housewives’ reunion

- Joy Mphande

After another drama-filled season of The Real Housewives of Durban, Mthokozisi “MaBlerh” Cele is set to unpack it all as the host of the two-part reunion special.

Fans are expecting some participants to air each other’s dirty laundry at the reunion.

During the finale of Season 3, the women distinguished friends from foe, and the “last supper” confrontation between Nonku Williams and Slee Ndlovu had tongues wagging on social media.

MaBlerh promises not to disappoint fans, and promises to represent Durban well.

“I jumped at this opportunity as a Durbanite.

“The reunion has never been hosted by someone from Durban, someone who understands the landscape and social dynamics of Durbanites.

“It’s been a hard-hitting season, so it would be remiss and a disservice to the fans to go in there and not ask hard-hitting questions.

“Nothing is off limits and everything that was on the show will be put on the table.

“Viewers should expect a host who will fully represent them.

“A host who’s a fan of the show. A host who will try his best to get the clarity we all need on everything that happened this season.”

With MaBlerh replacing Donovan Goliath who hosted the previous reunion, Let it Rain Films’ executive producer Sam Kelly said they chose him because he is a big fan.

“He understands the world of The Real Housewives, which has become a pop culture phenomenon, and is genuinely interested in it.

“He will bring the strong presence we need to host this reunion with care, tact and maturity, as the conversations will tackle themes that have come up throughout the season.

“Our housewives this season are all strong women and we need someone who will not be afraid to engage and ask the questions that need to be asked.”

Showmax will be airing the reunion in two parts on May 3 and May 10. —
