Road closures

-

1. Road closures at the intersecti­on of 8th Avenue/Marine Drive and the entrance of Marine Drive/Pollock beach to be supervised by two traffic officers.

2. Adequate signage to be placed out in Marine Drive between 7th Avenue and 8th Avenue and demarcatin­g the deviation around the road closure to avoid any confusion.

3. The necessary warning lights to be visible at the road closure during bad weather conditions and nighttime.

4. Security to be deployed on either side of the road closures to safeguard the area as well as act as marshals to assist the motorists.

5. All participan­ts to run facing oncoming traffic from the start along the route up to La Roche Drive and Beach Road.

6. From La Roche Drive and Beach

Road crossover point to finish, the participan­ts will run on the seaside, in the left lane.

7. All runners crossing at intersecti­ons facing oncoming traffic to be safely guided by marshals.

8. Barricades and cones are to be supplied and placed out by the organisers of the event.

9. Sufficient adult marshals are to wear reflective bibs and equipped with red flags and must be provided along the route and at each intersecti­on to ensure the safety of themselves and all participan­ts.

10. All provisions of the National Road Traffic Act 93/1996 and municipal by-lays as well as any instructio­ns given by Traffic Officers is strictly adhered too at all times.

11. No undue obstructio­n or danger is caused to any other road users.

The Race Village

The race starts and ends at the Race Village on Marine Drive between 7th and 9th Ave, Summerstan­d, Gqeberha.

Parking:

There is limited parking on the sea side of Marine Drive in the parking lot at Something Good Roadhouse and on the grass area opposite 9th Avenue. Look at the road closures before you plan where to park.
