The Hilton

FROM THE EDITOR’S DESK

-

Small it might be, but Hilton is a thriving centre of arts, entertainment and creativity. We’ve long known there’s a wealth of artistic talent in the area, but there’re also people making music and sharing this with others, bringing joy to so many lives.

Bob Marley said “One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.” How right he was! Check out the story on father and son duo Charles and Michael Webster, who this weekend will be the opening act for The Parlotones.

What a privilege! Many of us know the Websters from their local performances, but their Parlotones gig is a real biggie.

We wish them luck! And talking of our wonderful Hilton talent, there’s local book repairer Steve Tongue, who has a penchant and a skill for repairing any old or treasured books you might have.

He’s even worked on a Bible that’s more than a century old.

Remember to pop in to The Station Stop this weekend to the stoep market and the pop-up art exhibition. The works on display are yet another glorious example of our bountiful talent that lurks right here in the Midlands.

Till next month!
