POETRY CLUB NEEDS YOU

Station Stop Coffee Shop, in collaboration with Tutoring Co, will be hosting poetry evenings on the first Monday of every month.

The idea is the brainchild of Luanna Hutton, Station Stop Coffee Shop manager, who is passionate about poetry and creative writing and envisioned cultivating a creative space where poets and creative writers could come and share their poetry and connect with fellow poetry lovers.

“Steampunk has its poetry group in Howick, but I thought it would be nice to create one for the Hilton community.

“This group will be for any lovers and writers of poetry, especially people who are just starting out and are unsure of their writing,” she said.

Every evening will have its own theme for which writers can prepare pieces according to that theme.

The event is open to all writers and lovers of poetry, and even if you don’t write or want to share your work, anyone is welcome to come and listen to the poetry.

“Sit and listen, or draw and listen, it’s just a space for creatives to enjoy,” she said. The cost is R30 per person.
