CHRISTMAS CAROL AFFAIR AT THE STATION
Covid-19 may have locked up the country, but it has also reunited some talented local music artists who are excited to be putting on a Christmas carol concert for their hometown community.
Local opera singer Emma Farquharson has paired up with music theatre practitioners Jay Hlatshwayo and Brandon Loelly, and pianist Ilse Myburgh, to present A Christmas Carol Affair on the Hilton Railway Station platform on December 18 and 19.
Farquharson said she knew Hlatshwayo and Loelly from back in the KZN Midlands Choir days, but they had all gone their separate ways to pursue their music careers. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic they all found themselves back home this year and decided to reunite on stage and spread some much-needed Christmas cheer.
The family-friendly Covid-compliant concert will feature a mix of traditional sing-a-long Christmas carols, as well as some of the biggest all-time favourite Christmas hits. Traditional or modern, classical or pop, there’s a song included for everyone and every age.
Show times are 5pm for 5.30pm on Friday, 18 December, and 3pm for 3.30pm on Saturday 19 December. Tickets cost R80 for adults and R60 for children (under 10 free). To book, contact Emma: 082 328 6703 (call/ WhatsApp) / firstname.lastname@example.org
