Sarah Church received seven distinctions and made it on to the IEB list of Outstanding Achievement. She said she was nervous to receive her results. “When I read them, I got butterflies. I probably put a lot more effort and focus into trying to stay on top of my studies, because of the lack of daily physical classroom interaction,” she said. Church will be studying chemical engineering at Stellenbosch University.
Jessica Dunn was in disbelief when her sister told her she’d received seven distinctions. She said her family provided huge support throughout matric. “My dad, especially, was a massive support system. During prelims and finals he visited me in Hilton every second weekend and always woke me up with a double shot cappuccino,” she recalled.
She is still choosing between studying Maths and Statistics abroad at Edinburgh or Exeter University; otherwise she will attend the University of Cape Town and pursue a Business Science (BSC) degree.
