PRE-LOVED HOSPICE OPENS
Here’s some good news for second-hand shoppers who enjoy picking through bricà-brac: old china and porcelain, delicate teacups and saucers; silver and crystal, pre-loved clothes and kitchenware. A Pre-Loved Hospice shop opened on 17 April at 36 Hilton Avenue, and by all accounts, sales and donations are booming.
“It’s been wonderful to see the support we’ve received since opening,” said Howick Hospice Marketing Coordinator Meghan Coslett.
“Our Pre-Loved shops are a valuable way of generating income for our services, and this new outlet, being almost on the main road and in a popular centre that generates a lot of foot traffic, is already attracting loads of interest.”
Ridiculously well-priced finds are delighting local foragers of collectables, good china, excellently preserved silverware and other bits and pieces, and Coslett said they were also very happy with the donations they have been receiving.
The shop is open Mondays to Fridays from 8.30am until 2.45pm, although the hours may change at a later stage, and on Saturdays from 8am until 12.30pm. The store is ably managed by Claudine Mukeshimana, assisted by Nqobile Skhakhane.
