ALOE FESTIVAL

-

This year’s annual Ashburton Aloe Festival will be held on Saturday, July 3, and Sunday, July 4, in the Lower Mpushini Valley Conservancy, Ashburton East. Held to raise funds for antipoaching and conservation, the Ashburton Aloe Festival has been connecting city folk with the peace and tranquillity of “A Day in Nature” since the Festival began in 2007. Make the weekend as relaxing and exciting as you’d like.

Choose from a range of awesome activities, walks and talks hosted at six venues. One ticket gives visitors access to all six venues in this beautiful private Biodiversity Stewardship Nature Reserve for the day. Activities over the festival weekend include a dog agility display, natural horsemanship display, and self-guided and guided trails in the valley. There will be over 60 market stalls, food vendors and plant sales at the Ashburton Aloe Festival Market on the Sunday, including live music, a children’s play area, pony and cart rides. The festival will feature a series of specialist environmental talks and workshops. A variety of food and drinks, including al la carte meals and bar at The Zebra & Porcupine, market food vendors, conservancy tea garden, breakfast bar and hot meals at the Waterhole, Impala Bend, will be available. Purchase Aloes from Rocky Wonder Aloe Nursery with over 200 species of Aloes and wide variety Succulents all at 20% discount for plants in bags. Venues are open 9am to 4pm, the bird trail opens at 6am and for those making a full day of it, late afternoon sundowners, campfire, night walk and al la carte meals on offer after 4pm. Tickets are R50 adults, Pensioners R30 and Children R20 with Children under 6 free. There is no entry fee for the Ashburton Aloe Festival Market.
