THE FOREST WEAVER SINGS AGAIN
After months in lockdown, local songbird Emma Farquharson is seizing the opportunity to get back on stage. Farquharson has an exciting concert tour kicking off this September, showcasing a repertoire of underperformed female composers and well-known classics, all learnt during lockdown.
Chez-Soi translates to “at home”, and encapsulates the experience musicians around the world have had of having to live, work and play at home. “We learnt this repertoire at home while we weren’t allowed to perform,” the opera singer explained.
Chez-Soi features Dylan Arslanian on strings and traditional Armenian instruments, Ilse Myburgh on piano and Tony Hind on flute.
The first performance will take place at Overstone Cottages, Dalton, on September 12. If you miss this date, another performance is scheduled for October 23 at the Old Mushroom Farm.
Farquharson has a concert tour planned, Covid-19 willing, and hopes to take ChezSoi to many places in the Midlands and beyond.
“This, our first performance since the lockdown, is an important concert tour for us and we hope the audience will seize the opportunity to come and watch live performances again. All our concerts are Covid19 safe and compliant. Come and support local artists.”
