FESTIVE SEASON TEDDY BEAR DRIVE

Every child deserves a comforting teddy bear, and this festive season, three local women have set out to make this a reality for over 400 children from different creches in the area.

Kelly Stegen, Philippa Campbell and Ina Smith are appealing for donations of teddy bears that are in a good enough condition to be enjoyed by children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

While the aim is to collect and donate 400 teddies, there are over ten creches where the need is great, and Stegen said she hopes to present 700 teddies to children who have hardly anything.

The drive will run throughout the Christmas season and there are drop off points in Pietermaritzburg at Touchwood Interiors and Blue Gel Hair Salon.You can also arrange to drop off teddies with Stegen.

So far, 200 teddy bears have been donated. Donations towards new teddy bears is also welcome.
