EXCITING NEW SHOPPING EXPERIENCE FOR HILTON
Awhole new shopping experience is coming to Hilton with the announcement of Hilton Siding shopping centre’s confirmed store directory.
The newest retail development on Hilton Avenue is set to open in June and is staying true to its promise of creating a convenient shopping experience by bringing the first Checkers supermarket to Hilton.
Developers, Shift Capital, confirmed the Checkers will be a FreshX store, one of the supermarket chain’s more upmarket stores offering the finest products from local suppliers, an improved layout with wider aisles, modern furnishings, but the same checkers value and prices.
Other firsts include Hilton’s very own Poobie Naidoo’s for sports enthusiasts, a Spec Savers and Seattle Coffee Co.
The centre will also bring a second Clicks and Absolute Pets to the area.
There will also be a host of brand new stores, including the Bird and Co. fast food joint, that currently has stores in Durban and Gauteng; Tiger’s Milk, a restaurant franchise known around the Western Cape, Gauteng and other parts of KZN for their food and craft drinks; and West Pack Lifestyle, for home, office, school and business needs.
Basement shops are being created in the underground parking level, providing handy services such as a laundromat, locksmith, car wash, water supplier, florist and cellphone repair store.
The Hilton Siding Station Precinct connecting the Hilton Station to the shopping centre is still on the cards to be developed.
Central to the precinct development is the promise to keep the Hilton Station’s heritage and history intact and alive.
It will connect the shopping centre to the Hilton Station with a walkway with local pop-up shops, eateries, entertainment and crafts strewn along it and promises to be a safe and family-friendly community space. “We are excited to bring Hilton the ultimate shopping convenience under one roof. Hilton Siding Shopping Centre is ideally located for people to pop in on their way to school or work.
The mix of tenants means that shoppers can get their everyday items, as well as some exciting extras,” the developers said.
Meanwhile, the new Avenues Shopping Centre, which opened in October 2021, is not only home to Hilton’s first Pick n Pay and Dischem store, but has also recently announced Blackwoods Garden Centre as its newest tenant coming to the centre early in 2022. Coffeeberry is preparing to open their restaurant in February, after operating as a take-away pop-up store since November. The Avenues has also introduced Crazy Plastics and Crazy Pets to Hilton.
