Next we’ll be getting rid of examinations

- From: NM MOODLEY

I cannot find words to compliment the writer, Lindiwe Dlamini for the excellent and inspiring letter she wrote last week (Indian children respect education).

The fact that the views expressed comes from a black person and not from any other race group, makes me proud of her. I could write volumes on the subject of mismanagement of this country by the ANC over the past 22 years. Yet years earlier we were lied to that it was going to be a better life for all. My foot. Yes it is better for a chosen few who became billionaires almost overnight.

However, I would like to add one little bit more to your letter. The Hindu Indian did not only worship Mother Saraswati, the Mother of Knowledge, but his own mother and father for the sacrifices they made in bringing them up. As a consequence to their upbringing, they respected everybody and everything.

Today the protests and destructions are all about afro hairstyles, university fees etcetera. Watch this space, tomorrow it will be all about “Do away with examinations, etcetera. We don’t need them any longer. Better still, close all educational institutions, so there will be no more need for exams”. Fair enough, you don’t want to study, but let others carry on with their studies.

At this rate, I wonder what the future holds for this country. Beyond the protesting, my view is that there is a hidden agenda.
