SPRING break is on the horizon, and with the heat rising and Durban showing off her best, there is no better place to spend family time together and have some fun. We compiled a list of things to do to help you plan:

Indian songstress Asha Bhosle will be in Durban for the South African leg of her farewell concert tour, and she will sing a variety of songs that cut across generation­s. With more than 13 000 songs under her belt and across genres such as pop, bhajans, gazals and qawalis, she has entertaine­d for seven decades. She will perform on October 1 at the ICC at 7pm. Spend a day cheering on your favourite rugby players when SA takes on New Zealand at Growthpoin­t Kings Park stadium on October 8 at 5pm. Bookings at Computicke­t.

The Great Big Enormous Turnip. For some live fun, this story, based on an old Russian folk tale, features an elderly man and woman who cannot get along. When he grows the biggest turnip in the world, the two are forced to work together, and incorporat­e the audience, in pulling it out of the ground. At Rhumbelow theatre, October 4 to 8. Magic and Fun with Sim-SilaBim: The little ones will enjoy the comedic antics of Sim-Sila-Bim, who searches for his lost Magical Wand in this theatre production at Rhumbelow theatre, October 3 to 8. Bookings at Computicke­t.

For the teens, there’s a F Ink party at Gateway’s Wavehouse, on October 1 at 1pm. Artists such as Nasty C, Black Motion, Dreamteam, Aewonwolf, Gemini and Maraza will perform. Bookings at Computicke­t.

Have fun in the sun at the outdoor music festival, October 1 at Hazelmere Dam. Boat riding, wet biking, wake boarding, tubing, skiing, and braaing will also be part of the day’s activities. Computicke­t.
