Recycle your creative side as a challenge

THE Global Cardboard Challenge is all about getting creative with recycling ideas.

The KZN Society of Arts (KZNSA) is holding the challenge today for all ages. It’s free and all materials are provided.

KZNSA director, retail and craft developmen­t, Angela Shaw, said the Cardboard Challenge was an internatio­nal idea started in Los Angeles.

“We will fill up our gallery with cardboard and recycled plastic and it is open to anyone who wants to come in and play,” said Shaw.

KZNSA’s education centre LAB (learning, appreciati­on and nokuBamban­a) which teaches collage, painting, drawing and beading on Saturday.

Shaw said anyone participat­ing in the Cardboard Challenge would be invited to take a photo of their artwork. Skills in Photoshop and basic animation will be taught on the following Saturdays - part of a six-week programme in collaborat­ion with CodeMakers, a US non-profit organisati­on.
