ACTIONSA leader Herman Mashaba has said his party is the solution, if citizens want war against corruption. Speaking at the party’s manifesto launch in Johannesburg this week, he said his message is that there is still hope to “fix South Africa”. Speaking about the high crime rate, Mashaba said: “No country can prosper without the rule of law. Criminals should live in fear, not lawabiding citizens.” He said that in order to fix the country, it was important to start at home. | Political Bureau

LENNIT Max was this week named as the Freedom Front Plus’s mayoral candidate for Cape Town. Max has been around the block for years, having served as provincial police commissioner between 1999 and 2003. He then moved on to become the Western Cape leader of the Independent Democrats, after leaving his role as police commissioner. His tenure in the ID came to an end in 2005, after the party found that he had breached its membership code of conduct. |
