What the Spirit tells us about 2024 and the challenges for SA

- RENE BEE

STARTING off looking at the broad outlook for South Africa as a whole for 2024, I’m told this will be the year where we come together and stand united, for change and improvement.

There will be many changes occurring throughout the year, some good and some not so good. Generally speaking, the good changes will outweigh the bad ones. The time for big change is upon us and there is hope for a better future.

Many people have lost faith in the country, but I hear the Spirit saying the best is yet to come.

South Africa steps out of infancy this year, and becomes a youth, full of promise, full of potential and full of growth. And 2024 is a year where we nurture our country, leading it towards its full potential.

The upcoming presidential election will see some interesting shifts with surprising outcomes.

The feeling going in is one of fear and trepidation, but the outcome brings hope and with that, great change. There is a need to go back to basics, back to the foundations of what South Africa represents, and in doing so, we can break down the walls that have been keeping up the divisions between people.

South Africans are fed up, angry, frustrated, and ready to spark change. The surprise will be the shift in mindset among the younger generation. Those who are younger than 35 will make a big noise and be heard loudly. Keep a close eye on this generation.

The year 2024 will see many great improvements to our infrastructure that will ultimately lead us out of the current electricity crisis.

Unfortunately, we won’t feel the release from this crisis during 2024, but the nation certainly will in 2025.

And 2024 will be the year of re-establishing solid foundations and creating solid plans. But it’s going to take time to get us to where we want to be.

Those who have contributed to the collapse of our electricity infrastructures will come under scrutiny with nowhere to hide during the first part of the year. For the average South African, it may feel like no progress is being made as we will continue to experience load shedding for another 12-18 months before it starts to become a thing of the past.

South Africans really struggled financially during 2023 with the cost of living and general expenses climbing. We step into 2024 still feeling rather anxious and nervous, and with good reason. The state of our economy doesn’t look like its going to improve enough during 2024. It’s going to take another year or so for our economy to regain strength. There will be moments of growth followed by deeper collapse. South Africa is in for a bumpy ride economically with good improvements forecast for 2025 onwards.

An interesting development during 2024 is with crime and security. Spirit says those responsible for protecting us unfortunately have no protection themselves, which is going to become an even bigger issue during 2024.

There is something happening behind the scenes which will be exposed in a big way. This will bring some chaos and uncertainty, and during the chaos, there will be a new force born and brought to life.

But 2024 is the year of change, truth, and growth for South Africa as a whole, and for her people.

While there is much happening around the world, it looks like South Africans will be focused on self-preservation. It doesn’t look like we get very involved in the actions and issues of other countries, choosing to rather focus on our own issues instead.
