2011 FOCUS ON SPORTS FACILITIES IN KZN SCHOOLS
A special supplement in the Mercury on Wednesday, June 15
THE Mercury will carry a special supplement on Wednesday, June 15 on sports facilities at schools in KwaZulu-Natal. This is an annual feature now in its sixth year.
The supplement will appear in the main body of The Mercury and will be designed by our creative team.
Sports writers will be asked to contribute articles to the feature while senior journalists and photographers will handle the editorial material.
School sport is a massive drawcard in KZN and the idea is to showcase what KZN schools have to offer that is special in terms of sports facilities. Thus editorial content – words and pictures – will be the backbone of the feature. The focus will be not only on highlighting the sports facilities and training methodology at schools but also on informing the public about the sport ethos of each participating school.
The importance of top class coaches in school sport will be under the spotlight as well as the role of sport in the development of young people. KZN has a school sport culture which is surely the envy of other provinces in South Africa and we need to SHOUT about it!
Schools will be featured individually with the choice open to book a full page, a half page or a quarter page.
Our reporting, photographic and layout team will work in close cooperation with participating schools to produce the best possible product.
The feature will be extensively prepublicised to gain maximum readership. Bookings close on Friday,
