South Africa should not take nuclear path
It is unsettling and scary that, in the face of the Fukushima nuclear disaster and Germany and Switzerland deciding to scrap their nuclear energy projects, our energy minister decides to go on with the South African nuclear energy programme.
Please please, madam, you are in a favourable position. Learn from the mistakes of others; do not plunge our country into an unnecessary danger and waste.
Our country has plenty of sunshine, a rich source of renewable energy. Let us explore that and power every new house with solar energy before we create unsurmountable problems for generations to come.
