Cosatu applauds tender blacklist

Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan must be congratulated for preventing government departments from doing business with blacklisted companies for up to 10 years, Cosatu said on Friday. “The blacklist will be put on the government’s website and will include either the registration number of the offending firm, or the ID number of the person associated with a procurement,” the union federation’s spokesman Patrick Craven said. The blacklist restricted many suppliers who had “done deals” with Limpopo’s Housing Department, he said. – Sapa
