ENS recruits more than 70 new candidate attorneys each year. And, as profession­al developmen­t is a permanent and regular focus, the firm employs a full-time training and developmen­t professor. Training sessions are ongoing and may take the form of lectures given by leading profession­als within the firm or visiting experts in a particular field. Not limited to technical aspects of law, they also cover IT, leadership, business generation and other key competenci­es. Junior staff members also receive daily individual mentorship from senior colleagues who are leading practition­ers in their respective fields of expertise.

The firm has an entrenched monthly induction programme whereby all new recruits receive in-depth exposure to the firm’s values, vision and systems. These sessions involve the chief executive, his deputy chief executive and all members of the executive management team.
