Dogs saved from pot

BANGKOK: Thai officials seized a shipment of about 300 dogs destined for cooking pots near the Laos border. Four pick-up trucks carrying dogs in cages were stopped in Mukdahan, about 500km north-east of Bangkok.

Dogs destined for Vietnam can fetch between 500 and 1 000 baht (R136 to R273) a head. – Sapa-DPA
