KZN supermodel revs up Maserati
A SUPERMODEL with roots in Scottburgh, on the South Coast, will become the face of supercar manufacturer Maserati’s latest marketing campaign.
Maserati selected 26year-old Genevieve Morton to rev up its range as it presents its legendary Italian sports cars to the world.
Morton was the first South African to appear in the Sports Illustrated America swimsuit issue and has since appeared five times.
She recently completed a major photo shoot for Maserati featuring its entire range; the new Ghibli sports sedan, its first E-segment executive saloon, which is set to arrive in South Africa in the middle of this year; the luxurious flagship Maserati Quattroporte as well as the sports cars, the Maserati GranTurismo and the open-top, four-seat Maserati GranCabrio.
The photo shoots took place in a range of settings and venues to emphasise the elegance and performance of the vehicles.
For her part, Morton will bring her 2 million Facebook fans, 108 000 Instagram followers and 57 000 Twitter followers to boost Maserati’s social media campaign – they have 4million people on Facebook, 361 000 followers on Instagram and 450 000 on Twitter.
Maserati has also turned to social media with four different “behind-thescenes” videos of Morton at work during her photo shoots and a special set of five pictures that will only be available through her social media sites in the coming months.
Morton is quoted on Instagram as saying: “Opening the door of a @Maserati is like uncorking a fine wine #Maserati”.
