USHAKA Marine World has added another accolade to its growing number of honours. The marine park has been awarded the “Top Choice 2015” award by an Asian tourism information website.

Lianorg Tourist Information Network offers travel information to tourists. Its subscribers include tourists from China, Japan, Korea, Mongolia, and other Asian countries.

Lianorg suggests “top choices” outside Asia, and this year the choice was uShaka Marine World. The Lianorg Tourist Information Network ranking system includes restaurants, hotels, shops and tourist attractions from 83 countries.

The park was also voted third in the country’s local entertainment destination segment by the Sunday Times Generation Next Survey Awards for the fifth consecutive year.

The awards reveal what the South African youth aged between 8 and 22 deem “cool”.

uShaka’s chief executive, Stella Khumalo, said adding these awards to uShaka’s growing number of accolades was “testament Africa’s largest marine theme park was a major drawcard for both international and local visitors”.

She said this underscored its dedication to providing value in terms of attractions and the overall experience, and upheld its focus on customer service.

Khumalo thanked the uShaka staff for their contribution.

“We are delighted to have been acknowledged. We will continue to ensure we offer a world of leisure, fun, entertainment and excitement while boasting a safe, secure and clean environment,” she said.

She added that uShaka worked hard to ensure it kept up with the times by introducing new features to the park which would continue to make it an exciting visit for all.
