The Mercury

Cartoon that says it all – and more

-

THE cartoon in The Mercury of November 4 says it all and considerably more.

It is an indisputable naked fact that the Springbok rugby team during P W Botha’s reign was superior to what is today. Man, they were thrashed by the minnows of Japan. I do not know which party Heyneke Meyer belongs to, but I ask: Would he banished from the party for the criminal anti-South African opinion he seems to express in the said cartoon?

Would he be a candidate for capital punishment? All this in addition to the threat of being booted from from his position as coach. The Democratic Alliance has demonstrated its infantile, innate, inept weakness to grasp the obvious academic truth that any nincompoop is capable of comparing the Devil with the Saint by claiming that Adolf Hitler is better than Professor Ashwin Desai because he (Hitler) praised Gandhi.

In a fit of anger, petulance, or better still to score a superior political point Malema can say that P W Botha can make a better politician than Jacob Zuma? So what then?

And so did the hapless, fed-up Kohler Barnard make that foolish comparison with that infamous tyrant P W Botha to demonstrate how incapable is the Zuma government.

So the DA to save political damage kicked her out. Abracadabra! Indeed a political ploy methinks. R MUNISAMY
