Prayers for Tutu as he is readmitted to hospital
ARCHBISHOP Emeritus Desmond Tutu was readmitted to hospital at the weekend with fears that the wound from his surgery had become infected.
Tutu, 84, was admitted to hospital two weeks ago for surgery and was discharged last week. He had been home for three days when he was readmitted. The family said the infection was the result of past treatment received for prostate cancer.
At the weekend the Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation tweeted: “The family was very grateful for the ongoing prayers and support.”
Many wished him well on social media.
Professor Tinyiko Maluleka tweeted: “Praying for a speedy recovery for the beloved archbishop of the world.” Boitumelo tweeted: “May the good God be with you. Speedy recovery.” – Mercury Correspondent
