WHITE maize for delivery in December dropped 1.8 percent to R3 846 a ton on the SA Futures Exchange yesterday.

Prices were down a fifth day. The most active contract earlier touched the lowest since December 9.

Yellow maize for same delivery month climbed 0.8 percent to R3 220 a ton.

Sunflower seeds for September delivery gained 2.2 percent to R6 375 a ton, the first increase in a week.

Soya beans for delivery in December gained 1.4 percent to R6 490 a ton, snapping a fourday decline.

Wheat for same month delivery advanced 0.1 percent to R4 005.20 a ton. – Bloomberg
