Discovery ups contributions

DISCOVERY Health Medical Scheme yesterday announced average contribution increases for next year of 10.2 percent. Its Executive and Comprehensive plans will rise by 11.9 percent, its Coastal Core Plan by 14.9 percent, its Coastal Save Plan by 7.8 percent, and all other options by 9.9 percent. Eight out of ten members will have contributions upped by 9.9 percent or lower. Jonathan Broomberg, the chief executive of the scheme’s administrator Discovery Health, said yesterday that Discovery Health Medical Scheme was facing a sharp rise in medical inflation.
