Opposition’s gift that keeps giving

AS USUAL the ANC has come out in support of President Jacob Zuma. It was not unexpected that the motion of no confidence in him would be defeated by the majority party.

For the opposition parties, especially the DA and the EFF, Zuma is the biggest and most enduring “Christmas present” they will ever get. He is the gift the keeps giving!

Zuma is the talisman for the opposition parties to garner support against the ANC. Take Zuma out of the picture, and the opposition loses its biggest rallying point. Having Zuma in the midst of all these ructions gives the opposition enough ammunition to use.

Zuma, the Guptas, the discredited Hawks and the National Prosecuting Authority are the best issues available to the opposition parties for banging on and to demonstrate to the electorate how far the rot has set in.

The majority in the Zuma-led ANC is not here to build the country. This ANC is here to break down South Africa and its economy by wholesale looting of the fiscus, led by Zuma and his cronies.

The South African Revenue Service also has been captured, and when it loses its credibility and independence we are on the path to self-destruction.

The State in Capture report is there for all to see and it’s only the ANC with its rose-coloured glasses that can’t see through it.

As long as Zuma is there at the helm of the ANC, the opposition parties have a better chance of unseating the ruling party at the polls.

The current ANC and its blinkered leadership must be banished to the sidelines come the 2019 general elections.

The party must be made irrelevant. Only the voters can do that. Once the ANC is in opposition and without any patronage to dish out, the party members will starve and wither. The ANC snouts have been at the feeding trough for far too long under Zuma’s patronage.

Let the fed-up electorate, and not forgetting the underfed, show them the door!
